Amber Heard is being investigated for false testimony

It seems that Amber Heard’s legal problems are far from over, because a few weeks after losing the libel trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp, the 36-year-old actress is under investigation for giving false testimony in Australia.

Last October it was revealed that the star of Aquaman was being investigated by Australian authorities for possible perjury charges in connection with a 2015 incident, in which the country’s authorities say Heard smuggled two Yorkshire dogs into the country.

On June 29, a spokesperson for the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment told Newsweek that Heard is being investigated for giving false testimony to avoid jail time or other repercussions during the “2015 illegal animal importation trial.”

The investigation is currently ongoing and concerns when Johnny Depp and Amber Heard entered Australia aboard a private jet carrying the actress’s two dogs (Pistol and Boo), who, once they landed, were not declared , circumventing the strict quarantine policy that exists in the country.

Shortly after, in 2016, both actors recorded a video together, apologizing for what happened, including Depp, alone, during the Jimmy Kimmel Live!reiterated the apology, claiming that he was “very sorry,” especially since “I really believed that all of the documents for Pistol and Boo were in order.”

The matter seemed a thing of the past. However, after the star’s estate manager Pirates of the CaribbeanKevin Murphy, alleged that Amber Heard was “fully aware” that what she was doing was not allowed, the case was reopened.

I explained to Ms. Heard, several times, that trying to bring the dogs to Australia without completing the mandatory process was illegal and could result in harsh penalties, including euthanasia of the dogs.

Australian media say the investigation is ongoing. Although it is not certain that the case will go to court, it is a fact that it will be another headache for Amber Heard.
