For more than 3 decades, Chris Porsz walked the streets of Cambridgeshire, in Great Britain, and captured hundreds of images in which all kinds of characters appeared in the daily environment of the city. A paramedic by profession, Porsz was always a fan of photography, although years later he gave it up.
Almost 40 years later, he found his photographic archives by accident and had the idea of looking for the protagonists to make a new collection that would show the passage of time, recreating the same scenes 30 years later. This is the amazing result.
1. Boys running (1987 and 2016)
Andy, Richard, Tony, Aaron and Devinder are part of the group of boys caught running through the center. The image below that was recreated almost 30 years later.
2. Pink Mohican (1985 and 2016)
In a changing world, images like the one above represent a breath of fresh air. Badger Farcue was a boy punk which was captured while participating in a pizza eating contest. He is now the father of 5 children… and he retains the look of those years.
3. Kiss at the train station (1980 and 2009)
When the photo was taken, Tom was 22 years old and Sally 21. They were saying goodbye as he was returning to Essex, where he worked as a teacher. A year later they got married and are now the parents of two boys who are also around 20 years old.
4. Schoolgirls (1979 and 2016)
Sandra, Carmen and Maureen were friends at school, but as often happens, over the years they lost contact. Some moved to nearby cities, but for all of them it was a pleasant reunion.
5. Dog and Tina (1985 and 2015)
Dog and Tina were a couple of punks in the 1980s and they were photographed near Peterborough Cathedral when she was 18 years old. They are parents of twins although they are no longer together as a couple.

The woman in the picture still loves bananas.
7. Sisters at the window (1980 and 2013)
The sisters Shehnaz, Rukhsana and Itrat appear on the other side of the window in this portrait. The three live in the same city and see each other frequently.
8. Trudi and Dave Talbot (1980 and 2010)
It seems that only the pet has changed after 30 years.
9. A dose of calcium (1983 and 2014)
Layla was pictured drinking milk from a carton at her nursery. She still likes milk, she is married and has two children.
10. Five Boys (1980 and 2011)
Stuart, Phillip, Martin, Ricky and Christopher appear in the first image. Martin was not available for the second photograph and Christopher, who appeared at the foot of the door, passed away.
11. Friends (1982 and 2011)
Penny and sisters Sarah, Louise and Carol and Juliette were pictured near the cathedral. In the image below, Alison (far right) stood in for her sister Juliette, who passed away a few years ago.
12. Metal Mickey (1980 and 2016)
Steve Osborn is better known as ‘Metal Mickey’ and 36 years ago he broke both legs in different motorcycle accidents. He now uses a cane to walk, has 4 children, plays the guitar in different bands and has raised more than 20 thousand pounds for the National Association of Motorcyclists with Disabilities.
13. Ice Cream Vendor (1980 and 2014)
Gino Borillo was selling ice cream when he just arrived from Italy to the English city. Years later, he got married, has 3 children, 4 grandchildren and now has a pasta business that he manages with one of his daughters.
14. Waiting for the phone (1981 and 2016)
Classmates and friends from school, John, Paul and Andrew were outside the phone booth waiting for their turn when they were photographed. They had not seen each other in 32 years until the moment of the second photograph.
15. Ice Cream Kids (1981 and 2015)
Dona and her brother Yarnell were 5 and 3 years old respectively at the time of the photo. They both live in the same city and are parents.
16. Butcher (1980 and 2015)
Richard dropped out of school at age 15 and started working in a butcher shop. He still lives in the city and now the butcher shop is a coffee shop.
17. Young (1970 and 2013)
Pippa, Ade, Gary and John were spotted near the cathedral wearing jackets with pins, What was fashion like in those years? John is now a painter and decorator; he and Ade play together in a band, Gary emigrated to Australia and Pippa now lives in Spain.
18. Aesthetics (1980 and 2016)
Sandra was pictured wearing a fur coat and gloves as she headed to the beautician. She is now a widow, she has a daughter and three grandchildren. The aesthetic changed owners and she is now called Tony & Guy.
19. star road (1982 and 2014)
The sisters Maria and Annemarie were captured on Star Road. Years later, women of Hungarian descent continue to live in the city.
20. Jewelry assistant (1990 and 2015)
Vivki Gracey worked as a sales assistant at a jewelry store in the mall for two years. She still lives in the city, is married and has two children.
21. Bubble gum (1980 and 2012)
Sisters Anna and Emma were spotted on Bridge Street making bubble gum. They were 11 and 13 years old respectively, and were waiting for their mother. Now both are married and are mothers of families.

23. First job (1982 and 2016)
The first image was taken when Tasbir Singh was at his first job, working in the local market. He is still in the city, he is married and has 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
24. The Pied Piper (1986 and 2015)
Neil wandered the streets of downtown for many years, playing the flute in various places. When the book containing all the photographs was released, Neil had been missing for several months.
25. Nobby (1980 and 2015)
Nobby lived for 10 years in terrible conditions, after his house burned down. She still lives in the city.
