To be a stewardess you have to know several languages and put up with both long flight hours and the use of uniforms with skirts and high heels, which can limit mobility, cause pain and back problems, making the days a great hell.
That’s why Ukraine’s largest low-cost airline, SkyUp, has replaced the classic high heels and skirts of its stewardesses with tailored suits and sneakers. This will allow them to have greater comfort and security in their environment. In addition, they will set a pattern in terms of gender, which could end up in a worldwide initiative.
The uniform was baptized under the name SkyUp Champions and consists of a tailored suit in an orange tone, with a loose and wide cut for greater comfort, as well as freedom of movement. In addition, it is accompanied by a pair of white sports shoes and a silk scarf.
Professional flight attendants first appeared almost 100 years ago. During this period, many things have changed and, most importantly, women have changed. The transformation requires a new vision of the profession and revolutionary changes. We are now initiating these changes with small but impactful acts.
The uniforms were jointly designed by fashion brands GUDU, Gunia Project and Nike Air. Its design has caused a stir, not only among airlines, but also worldwide for demonstrating that social change and innovation go hand in hand.
But clothing is not the only change implemented by the airline, as they also allowed their flight attendants to wear more natural makeup. In fact, the brand Backstage Beauty & Refresh created a sunset-like blush for them to use in their new look. In addition, they are now allowed to wear a variety of hairstyles, completely moving away from the boring bun or good high and fully collected.
It is expected that in a short time all these changes will be adopted by other companies. Meanwhile, SkyUp has already earned the respect and love of hundreds of Internet users and travelers.
